After clearing immigration and customs you are met by your Belizean guide birding starts then keep your binoculars handy as we can see the occasional bat falcon by the airport tower. We will travel on the George Price and Humming Bird Highways to Hokpins Village in the Southern part of Belize with stops along the way for birding. We check into our hotel and do some birding until dark if clients aren't tired from their travels.

we will spend the morning birding in the Jaguar reserve, some of the birds we hope to see include crested Guans, Great Curassow, White-collared Manakins, Passerini's Tanagers, Rufous-breasted Spine tail, Chestnut headed Oropendola the occasional Scarlet Macaw a number of Ant-wrens etc.
Breakfast and Overnight (Bocawina lodge).
We will depart in the morning for a stop at the Blue Hole National Park. The Blue Hole has a number of trails to hike within the park. Some of the unusual birds known to this area include White Hawks, Spotted-Wood Quails, Crested Guans, Lovely Cotingas, Keel-Billed Toucans, Red-Legged Honey Creepers, and Slaty tailed Trogons, Cinnamon and Rose-throated Becards just to name a few. We then continue to the Garifuna village of Hopkins right on the coast with some nice Sandy beaches.
Little history, In 1635 two Spanish ships carrying Nigerian slaves sank off the coast of St. Vincent. The slaves that survived and swam ashore found shelter in the existing Carib Indian settlements. Over the next century and a half, the two peoples intermixed, intermarried and eventually fused into a single culture, the Black Caribs or Garinagu. The first Garifuna arrived in Belize in November 19th, 1802.

Early departure to the Mountain Pine Ridge Reserve. Here we have the opportunity to see yellow-faced Grassquits, Rufous-capped Warblers, Acorn Woodpeckers, Yellow-backed Orioles and Golden-hooded Tanagers. Black headed Siskins can often be seen flying in flocks. There is a strong possibility of seeing the orange-breasted Falcon and king vultures by The 1,000 Ft. Falls (Hidden Valley). We have seen the Lovely Cotinga 8 out of 10 trips other birds include Ornate hawk Eagle, Black-white Hawk-eagle and the Stygian Owl.

Morning bird-walk on the grounds at Crystal Paradise. Some of the birds we hope to see include Collared Aracaris, Keel-billed toucans an array of Tanagers, Tityras, and Parrots. Lesson's Motmot and the Ferruginous Pygmy-Owls are also a common sight. Easy morning to hang out explore on your own after a late breakfast.
After breakfast we drive to Caracol. The road travels through the Mountain pine ridge and over a series of creeks, through lush tropical forest and pine forest, habitat for a variety of bird species.
The highest canopy rainforest is home to several species of cats, as well as rare birds such as the Keel-Billed Mot Mot, Crested Guan, Great Curassow and the Ocellated Turkey. A wide variety of orchids, vines and trees are also found in the area. This site is home to the tallest man-made structure in Belize, Canna (sky palace), standing some 143 ft above the plaza floor.
This tour can be combined with a visit to the Rio Frio Caves and the Rio On Pools on the way back. Here we have the opportunity to see Tody Motmot, Buff-throated Foliage gleaner, Black-cheeked Woodpecker, Golden hooded Tanagers. Rufous Piha, Rusty sparrows, Olive- backed Sparrows, Green-backed Sparrow, Bat Falcon, Gray headed kite, Great Black Hawk, Scarlet Macaws, king Vultures, purple crowned fairy and many more.

After breakfast we then travel on the Northern Highway to Crooked tree village inside the wildlife sanctuary with stops along the way for birding. Optional stop at the Belize Zoo and for lunch at one of the local restaurants.
We stop at the Monkey Bay Wildlife Sanctuary in search of the Crane Hawk, Golden-hooded Tanager Passerini's Tanagers, White-winged Becard, Rose-throated Becards, Stub-tailed Spade-bill just to name a few.

Early breakfast at Birds Eye view lodge and drive to Orange walk town in Northern Belize to board boat for a scenic boat ride to visit to Lamanai Archaeological site. We view plenty of birds such as Herons, Cormorants, Snail Kites, black Collared Hawks and more.
Arrive at the site we walk to the visitor centre have lunch and then go on the tour of the Lamanai site. We are able to climb a number of the structures as we learn about, the history of the Mayas as well as enjoy the birds there and Howler Monkeys. After the tour we visit the local gift shops there and board boat for a ride back to the van. We then make our way to Crooked tree on the northeren highways with stops along the way for birding.
