Travel along the Western Highway, then cross the Mopan River aboard a traditional hand-cranked ferry to reach Xunantunich, one of Belize’s most iconic Maya ceremonial centers. The site sits atop a natural limestone ridge, offering sweeping views of the Cayo District.

Explore El Castillo, the largest pyramid at the site, partially excavated and featuring a remarkable stucco frieze on the eastern face of Structure A-6. Three carved stelae displayed in the central plaza provide insight into the site’s political and ceremonial history.
